What Montreal says about us
"I brought in a 1950s wingback chair that had been in my family for generations. The team at Atlas completely transformed it — the craftsmanship is extraordinary. It looks even better than it must have when it was new."
"Had a custom banquette built for our restaurant. Atlas nailed the dimensions, the fabric selection was perfect, and it was delivered on time. Several customers have asked where we got it. Highly recommend."
"The price was very reasonable for the quality of work. They reupholstered our entire living room set in a beautiful navy velvet.. Communication throughout was professional and genuinely caring."

Frequently asked questions
-
Reupholstering costs vary based on the piece size, fabric choice, and complexity. We provide free, no-commitment estimates — contact us for an accurate quote.
-
Most residential projects are completed within 2–4 weeks from fabric confirmation. Custom manufacturing may take 4–8 weeks depending on complexity and material sourcing.
-
Yes, we offer pickup and delivery across the greater Montreal area for an additional fee. Contact us to arrange a convenient time.
-
Absolutely. We welcome customer-supplied fabrics. We'll advise on yardage requirements and suitability before you purchase.
-
In most cases, yes — especially for quality-built or sentimental pieces. A well-crafted sofa frame can last decades with fresh upholstery, and the result often exceeds the quality of new mass-produced furniture at a similar price point.
-
Custom banquette pricing depends on dimensions, fabric choice, and complexity of build. Restaurant or commercial banquettes are quoted by the linear foot. Contact us for a free estimate.
-
The cost of a custom upholstered headboard varies by size, fabric, and complexity — contact us for a free, no-obligation estimate.
-
Both. We keep over 200 upholstery fabrics at the Montreal workshop — performance weaves, velvets, linens, bouelés and leathers — and we help you match weight and durability to how the piece is actually used. You are also welcome to supply your own fabric; we confirm yardage and suitability before you buy. Fabric is the single biggest variable in any project, so every estimate is priced individually once your choice is made — and the estimate is free.
-
Yes. We reupholster sofas, sectionals, armchairs and dining chairs in leather, and we repair leather seating — worn seat panels, split seams, torn arms and sagging leather cushions. Whether a piece is better repaired or fully recovered depends on the condition of the hide; send us photos and we will tell you honestly which is worth doing, with a free estimate either way.
-
Yes — cushion-only work is one of our most common jobs. We re-core sagging seat cushions with new high-resilience foam, refill down and fibre wraps, replace worn zippers and casings, and make new cushions to measure for sofas, banquettes and window seats. It is a far smaller job than a full reupholstery, and we quote it separately at no charge.

Upholstery is the craft itself — building and covering the padded parts of a piece of furniture: the foam, webbing, springs and filling underneath, and the fabric or leather over them. Reupholstery is that same craft applied to a piece you already own: we strip the old cover off, inspect and rebuild whatever has failed underneath, then cover it again. Most people searching for upholstery in Montreal actually want reupholstery. A third term, recovering, means changing only the fabric while keeping the existing frame and foam — a smaller job than a full reupholstery. At Atlas we look under the cover before answering, and we tell you which of the three your piece genuinely needs. Every project is assessed individually with a free, no-obligation estimate.
-
Yes — both, in the same workshop. Alongside reupholstery we repair the furniture itself: re-gluing and re-doweling loose joints, replacing broken frame rails and legs, re-tying or replacing springs, re-webbing sagging seats, and fixing recliner and office-chair mechanisms. Many pieces need structural work before any new fabric goes on, which is why we assess the frame first. If your piece only needs a repair, we will say so rather than sell you a full reupholstery. Our furniture repair in Montreal page covers that side of the work in detail.
